South Miami Chess Club already hosts established monthly US Chess-rated tournaments in Pinecrest.
The Miami Interscholastic Chess League builds on this existing tournament infrastructure, making it easy for schools to participate without having to organize or host their own events.

South Miami Chess Club handles the venue, tournament direction, pairings, chess equipment, results and awards.
HOW THE LEAGUE WORKS
We've designed participation to be simple for schools. SMCC handles the competition—you bring the team.

Bring together students from your school's chess club, enrichment program, or student body.

Play in select South Miami Chess Club monthly tournaments while representing your school.
03 — EARN TEAM POINTS
Individual performances contribute toward your school's team standing throughout the season.
04 — CHASE THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Build school rivalries, climb the standings, and compete for team trophies and the league championship.
INTERESTED IN HOSTING?
Participating schools will also have the opportunity to host league competitions on their own campuses.
